Acceptable
Use Policy for Technology in the Business/Technology Department E-MAIL AND INTERNET USAGE
1. Individual computer users of networks, Internet and E-mail are responsible
for their behavior and communications over the network. Each
user is required to use the computer privilege in support of
education or research and must be consistent with the educational
objectives of Mountain Pointe High School. Mountain Pointe High School
will provide an educational setting for use but cannot be held
responsible for student violations of set standards. Access
is a privilege – not a right. Cancellation of
user privileges and/or appropriate disciplinary action will be taken for improper use and violation
of rules.
Students who do not sign up for usage may limit their accessibility to
resource materials.
2. Network Etiquette:
(a) Be polite, using appropriate language and pictures in messages to
others. Inappropriate language, illegal activities and downloading
inappropriate materials is prohibited.
(b) Respect and maintain user privacy. Do not reveal any personal addresses
or phone numbers. Assume that all communication and information
accessible through the network are private property. Copyright
infringement is prohibited and illegal.
(c) Guard network security. Use the network appropriately in such a way
that will not disrupt the use of the network by others.
(d) Damaging computers, computer systems or computer networks is prohibited
and will not be tolerated.
VIOATIONS OF THE ABOVE NETWORK ETIQUETTE MAY RESULT IN A LOSS OF ACCESS
AS WELL AS OTHER DISCIPLINARY OR LEGAL ACTION. PLEASE NOTE THERE
ARE DIFFERENT LEVELS OF ACCESSIBILITY AT MOUNTAIN POINTE HIGH SCHOOL.
